Unreleased dolls, 1988 by Hasbro:
There were plans for several dolls that were never released before the doll line was
discontinued. Some were revealed in the Hasbro Pre-Toy Fair 1988 catalog,
while others have just been revealed by people who worked on the show or shown up in pictures of
prototypes.
Many of these actually made it into the cartoon, in the very last episodes, so we got a
good idea what they were all about. And as for Graphix, she was thoroughly described in Christy
Marx's Jem bible.
Although the Rockin' Romance Jem doll has actually shown up,
and didn't contain any cassette, it's pretty likely that some of these dolls would, like the Stingers
who had quite enough songs and even their own theme.
4004 [Pictures by Jeff Bolton]
"JEM's ready for a rockin' romance and she has the most outrageous hair ever!".
This is the only one of the unreleased dolls that has actually shown up complete in it's box.
The first time this doll is known to have been
available for sale on the internet, was in January 16
of 1999, when one was put up for auction at eBay, with
the title "Jem Rockin Romance MIB". The location of
the seller, was Rhode Island, and this doll was made
in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It has very long crimped
blonde hair. After that, several has shown up and sold
pretty expensive. It doesn't seem to include a cassette.
