The Talent Search Part 1
Written by Christy Marx
Shana gets a chance at a new career as a fashion designer. She hesitates since it means she won't have time for the upcoming tour.
But Jem and the rest of the Holograms realize that it's Shana's big chance to make it as a top designer, and suggests to have a talent
search for a new drummer.
Characters:
Jem/Jerrica and the Holograms, Raya, The Misfits, Jetta, Synergy, Rio, Eric, Lin-Z,
Starlight Girls (Ashley, Ba Nee, Krissie, Deidre, Anne, Marianne, Joellen, Nancy, Delaree),
Anthony, Craig, actress Liz Stratton, Barry music store owner, Raya's father Miguel, Raya's brothers
(Enrique, Aurelio, Roberto), Raya's mother Rosa.
Songs:
"I Like Your Style" The Misfits
"Believe In Yourself" Jem and the Holograms
"I've Got My Eye On You" Jem and the Holograms
Other notes:
Shana plays both guitar and drums, but until this episodes she hadn't played guitar in ages
according to herself. Kimber plays drums aswell, but Aja or Jerrica don't.
The Starlight Girls help Jem and the Holograms with promotion.
The Misfits went looking at clubs for a fourth member only to top Jem and the Holograms and
their talent search. Stormer liked the idea of a fourth Misfit, because it means a new instrument, a
fuller sound, more complex music, Roxy didn't.
Jetta was part of the band Tinkerbillies before she joined the Misfits. "Tinkerbilly" is derogatory
slang for a pseudo-rock'n'roller someone pretending to be something he's not.
The first song Jetta played with the Misfits was before she was actually a member,
"I Like Your Style".
When the Misfits first meet Jetta, she doesn't have a work permit which means she can't
legally work in the USA. But Harvey Gabor's lawyers took care of that.
Craig came back to the USA from Europe just in time for the Talent Search, to visit his sister
Stormer.
In the music video "Believe in Yourself" by Jem and the Holograms, we get to see Raya playing drums
as a little child, she had the same haircolor even then.
When Raya discovers Jem's real identity she actually recognizes who Jerrica is, which probably means
Jerrica is kinda famous too.
The song "I've Got My Eye On You" by Jem and the Holograms is re-used. Previously appeared in the
episode "Kimber's Rebellion".

The Talent Search Part 2
Written by Christy Marx
As a response to the talent search held by Jem and the Holograms, the Misfits have found themselves a new
member. On top of that, Eric tries to bribe one of the finalists in the Jem and the Holograms talent search,
and the other finalist is related to one of the Misfits. Now both of them have reasons to help Eric and the
Misfits find out Jem's real identity.
Characters:
Jem/Jerrica and the Holograms, Raya, The Misfits, Rio, Eric,
Anthony, Craig, Liz Stratton actress and producer, Raya's father Miguel,
Raya's mother Rosa, three brothers of Raya (Enrique, Aurelio,
Roberto), Snakes gang.
Songs:
"Show Me The Way" Jem and the Holograms
"Beat This" Jem and the Holograms
"All's Right With The World" Jem and the Holograms
Other notes:
Craig didn't know his sisters nickname "Stormer".
Craig doesn't care about money.
Aja hoped very much that Craig would win the Talent Search.
Craig thinks Stormer is too good for the Misfits. But she thinks she'd be nothing without
the Misfits.
The song "Show Me The Way" by Jem and the Holograms is re-used. Previously appeared in the episode
"Starbright Part 2: Colliding Stars".

Scandal
Written by Mary Skrenes
Raya is about to be in the middle of her first interview as the new member of the Holograms. But Raya's
worries are nothing compared to Kimber's, when the other members of the Holograms start receiving hurtful
notes about themselves torn out of Kimber's lost diary.
Characters:
Jem/Jerrica and the Holograms, The Misfits, Synergy, Sean, Harriet,
Starlight Girls (Ashley), Connie Long reporter at channel 82, Terry Stone reporter
at channel 82, Pit Slurman publisher of Cool Trash Magazine, Will Houston reporter.
Songs:
"She Makes An Impression" Jem and the Holograms
"I Love A Scandal" The Misfits
"Dear Diary" Jem and the Holograms
Other notes:
Venice Beach is in Los Angeles, which is another thing that shows that Jem and the Holograms
live in LA.
Kimber keeps a diary. Here she sometimes writes down thoughts that turn into songs.
Jetta suggests that Roxy reads what Kimber says about her in Kimber's diary, but Roxy says
she wouldn't waste her time. In a later episode "Roxy Rumbles" we find out the reason for this, Roxy
can't read. On the other hand, later in this episode she has been able to pick out certain
pages of Kimber's diary with "dirt".
According to Kimber's diary, Roxy isn't dumb, but ignorant. Pizzazz is a rich spoiled brat.
Shana can be ridiculously insecure about her talent. Kimber thinks Aja is cold and sometimes wonders
if she has any feelings at all. Sometimes Kimber wishes Jem was her sister instead of Jerrica.
Sean thinks Kimber is a child in spirit but her work is quite mature.
Sean has nothing but the highest regards for Kimber, he respects her as a person and an artist.
He doesn't think Pizzazz is a real woman and wouldn't sing a song that she wrote.
There's an issue of the magazine Cool Trash that says "Jemstar chilled! Exclusive! Kimber loves
Sean! 'I could care less' he says!".
We get to hear Sean's band play a little music, but no singing.
Kimber gets her own new identity when she asks Synergy to change her into someone hard and mean,
someone who can never be hurt.
Synergy reveals that Emmett Benton told her many things about Kimber, he hoped she'd be strong,
she was a born charmer, from the beginning she enchanted everyone even butterflies, she was
sensitive and suffered when she saw pain, but the knocks and scrapes of childhood did
not stop her, she was creative, she was drawn to music and writing, she was often frustrated
but kept at it. When she was eleven she had her first big test, she had written a song for the
school talent show, but some unruly boys made fun of her as she began her sensitive ballad,
she had been proud of her song, but now she was humiliated, backstage her father gave her a
peptalk, she went back out there and the audience loved her, at that moment her father knew
she could survive in the music business, he was very proud. What he said according to Kimber
was "be true to yourself, believe in your song, and give the whole audience a chance".
Kimber can write a song in only one day, as also seen in "Father's Day".
The song "She Makes An Impression" by Jem and the Holograms is re-used. Previously appeared in the
episode "The Music Awards Part 1".

The Fan
Written by Beth Bornstein
Pizzazz finds an ad in a newspaper, from a Jem fan who is offering an enormous financial reward to anyone who can supply him with the
secret of Jem's real identity. Now the Misfits have the chance to ruin Jem's career and get paid while doing so.
Characters:
Jem and the Holograms, The Misfits, Synergy, Prescott A. Wentworth III, fake Jerrica and
the Holograms, fake Rio, fake Video, fake Jem's mother, fake Starlight Girls.
Songs:
"Nightmare" Jem and the Holograms
"Who Is She Anyway" The Misfits
"I Believe In Happy Endings" Jem and the Holograms
Other notes:
June 1 is Jem's birthday. She is a Gemini, dual personality.
The Misfits think Rio knows Jem's real identity, but that the Holograms don't.
Once again we get to hear Samantha Newark's singing.
Jerrica is the Holograms' manager.
It's funny that the Misfits didn't use Master of disguise Clash as one of the actors. She wasn't
even in the episode.
In the episode "One Jem Too Many", it's the other way around, only Jem is inpersonated by
another.
All the songs in this episode was used in another episode also, although the song "Nightmare" first
appeared in this episode.
The song "Who Is She Anyway" by the Misfits is re-used. Previously appeared in the episode
"Broadway Magic".
The song "I Believe In Happy Endings" by Jem and the Holograms is re-used. Previously appeared in the
episode "Culture Clash".

Father's Day
Written by Roger Slifer
As a thanks for filming their new video, Jem and the Holograms offer to help Video produce a video for her
Father's Day's gift, and will include clips of their own fathers. But Kimber isn't happy at all with the
idea. Clash who has already brought the Misfits to her and Video's hometown Mulberry, has everyone
convinced that Video doesn't really know Jem and the Holograms.
Characters:
Jem/Jerrica and the Holograms, The Misfits, Video, Clash, Harvey, Mrs. Bailey,
Emmett, Buzz Montgomery, Video's father John Montgomery, Video's mother, Christy,
Doc Martin, Hugh Carrington at American Aviation.
Songs:
"Something Is Missing In My Life" Jem and the Holograms
"Let's Blow This Town" The Misfits
"You're Always In My Heart" Jem and the Holograms
Other notes:
One of the few holiday episodes.
There's an attic in Starlight Mansion.
Emmett Benton seems to have been a good baseball player, in a box marked "dad" on the attic,
there's a baseballtrophy.
Did they really have any material left, like photos from Starlight House?
In the music video of "Something Is Missing", Kimber and Emmett are shown at a house with a
pool in the backyard. The animators might have taken for granted that Kimber grew up in
Starlight Mansion.
According to old clips, Emmett played a lot with kites with Jerrica and Kimber.
Kimber took her father's death very hard. He was very dear to her, as can be seen also in the
episode "Scandal".
Kimber started playing guitar when she was a little girl.
In the music video "Something Is Missing", The Holograms are performing without Raya, Jem is
the only one with a mike, and Kimber plays guitar.
Mulberry is the name of the town where Clash and Video grew up, and where their parents
still live. Except, no word about Clash's mother. That's because nothing was ever established about
Clash's mother, according to Christy Marx it was because Clash was a pretty minor character.
Clash had told her father that she was part of the Misfits.
Clash's father calls her Clash and not by her real name. He lives in a big house. He adores
her. She is his only daughter.
Video's mother calls her Vivian. Video's parents live almost next to Clash's father, only one house
inbetween.
Looking at the old tapes in Video's parent's house, they say Video was two years old when Clash
came home from the hospital, but according to the Jem bible they were born at the exact same time.
Video got her first camera from her parents on her 10th birthday. She had the same hairstyle
even then. That was the day Clash got her first musical instrument, the cymbals (bigger ones than
she's got in Starbright).
Video sees her father as an inspiration for her career, as he always made home movies.
Video's father has taken alot of abuse from his brother Buzz.
For once, the Misfits appear first in a place, before Jem and the Holograms, and without
knowing they were going to arrive, and for a reason of their own.
Kimber used to love to be at Christy's stables when Emmett was alive.
Kimber's favorite horse was called Lucky, it's white with a horse shoe symbol on it's forehead.
Pizzazz's father reveals to Jerrica and the Holograms that he has raised Pizzazz on his own
and spoiled her, and that she has been uncontrollable since her mother walked out on them.
It was years ago and ever since that Pizzazz has seemed to resent the world.
Old clips show that Pizzazz had the same lime colored hair even has a child.
The song "Something Is Missing In My Life" by Jem and the Holograms is re-used. Previously appeared
in the episode "Adventure In China".

Raya feels at home at the Aztec ruins.
In the music video of "Aztec Enchantment", there seems to be something going on between Raya
and Luiz.
The Misfits wore high heels to the jungle.

Written by Michael Reaves
After watching one of their old idols on Lin-Z TV, Jem and the Holograms come up with the idea of bringing the whole Taps Tucker
Band togheter to play again. A friend of Jem who owns a Jazz recording label, is interested as long as they find all the members
of the old band within 24 hours, otherwise Eric Raymond has a replacement deal.
Characters:
Jem/Jerrica and the Holograms, The Misfits, Synergy, Eric, Lin-Z, Techrat,
Starlight Girls (Ashley, Ba Nee,
Krissie, Nancy, Delaree) Mrs. Bailey, Mark Rockwell owner of a Jazz recording label Rockwell Records,

Songs:
"Jack, Take A Hike" The Misfits

The Taps Tucker Band was one of the great Jazz quartets in the 40's.
Lin-Z first heard the Taps Tucker band on a record of her grandfather's when she was only
5 years old but she still remember how "Night Train" blew her away.
For having such talent for music, Kimber doesn't seem to be very aware of old bands like
the Taps Tucker band from the 40's.
According to Aja, if it didn't happen last week, Kimber is not interested.
But Kimber does think the music of Taps Tucker band is great when she hears it.
Taps Tucker still has his old trumpet from the time he played in the Taps Tucker band, because
as he says, he can't play any other, it gave the band that special sound.
Taps Tucker hadn't heard from the rest of the band in years.
Joey London is in debt up to his ears.
Roxy and the Misfits think Taps Tucker's music is boring old stuff.
Lin-Z had only agreed to have the Misfits back on the show as long as they wouldn't case
trouble.
According to Shana, Jazz was undergoing a big revival at the time.
Jem has a friend named Mark Rockwell who owns a Jazz recording label.
Synergy can uplink with databases in other states. She can download things and has a built in
printer.
Stormer seems to know her way around car engines, as she could quickly and easily take out the
right part in order to make sure a car doesn't start.
After sabotaging for them, Stormer atually saves Aja and Joey from being beaten up.
The song "Jack, Take A Hike" by the Misfits is re-used. Previously appeared in the episode
"Old Meets New".
Techrat considers himself an electronic genius.
The Taps Tucker band dedicates their first reunion album to Jem and the Holograms.

the people who live on the same planet can't live in peace, is something that should concern us all.
he believes the key to making to world better is music.
