Jem Extra Scenes

Truly Outrageous

Episodes:

The first five episodes of the cartoon, were originally aired on TV in shorter pieces, which were later put togheter as a movie and released on video as "Truly Outrageous". When the cartoon was being made into a cartoon TV series, the "Truly Outrageous" movie got divided into five episodes. To fill the time out, new scenes with expanded story were created. The music videos, some of which originally contained repeated scenes from the other music videos, also got new scenes. The extra scenes were apparently not in the original scripts by the writer of those episodes, Christy Marx. A few scenes that were in the original version, were cut out, for no obvious reason. Some of the background music were replaced, sometimes with music from later episodes. The songs that had a music intro before the singing starts "Too Close For Comfort" and "Truly Outrageous", were cut to start like the versions that were released on the music cassette tapes that came with the dolls and other merchandise.

Some of the lines in the last extra scenes, spoken by Jerrica and Eric, also appear in the episode that followed, "Starbright Part One: Falling Star", which is probably where the lines first appeared, but later also were used in the episode the "The Battle Of The Bands" when extra scenes were created.

Starbright

Episodes:

  • Starbright Part One:
    "Falling Star"
  • Starbright Part 2:
    "Colliding Stars"
  • Starbright Part Three:
    "Rising Star"
The Starbright episodes already to begin with, were divided into three, and had great animation, except for a few animation mistakes. Still expanded scenes later got added, but only a very few short ones. While almost half of all the scenes got re-animated, and thereby half of the animation mistakes were corrected. In the re-animated scenes, not necessarily all characters appears to have been re-animated though. Also a few parts of some of the music videos, got re-animated. The intro to the song "Jealousy", was changed to resemble the cassette release intro.
