Comics

In the IDW comics Rio has a very specific but recognizable look from the 80's, slightly more colorful than his original main look. His obvious colors are purple, black, blue, pink, gray with a few additional colors.

Probably the same outfit as the previous, but without the jacket.

Shorter sleeves than the previous black t-shirt, and different pants and belt.

From one of the covers.

Probably the same outfit as the one with the hat, but without the hat.

Another black t-shirt, but possibly a different one, with slightly longer sleeves.

Probably the same as the previous one, but with different shoes.

Another black t-shirt, but with different pants again.

Same as the previous one but without the necktie?

No idea whether or not this is Rio or why he has that earring.

From a cover. I'm assuming this is Rio.

Movie

Rio, played by the handsome Ryan Guzman in the movie. He didn't play one of the musicians, we don't see him wearing any rockstar outfits. But he has quite a featured role, and we see him in as much as 12 different outfits, if you count the layers of clothing. He seems to be wearing blue jeans with most of his casual outfits. The bracelets he wears are possibly the same with his different outfits, while he seems to be wearing atleast two different watches. Notice he wears his wristwatch on his right hand, which is because he is lefthanded.

Compared to Rio in the cartoon, there is not much resemblance in clothingstyle and colors, although cartoon Rio is known to wear blue jeans/pants with a number of outfits.

Main outfit
Perhaps the equivalent to Rio's main outfit in the cartoon, or doll. This is casual while seeming like a full outfit with three pieces on top, including a jacket. Full outfit.

This is the shirt under his jacket, of his main outfit. Second view of top.

This is his t-shirt under his shirt of his main outfit.

Night wear
This is a tank top it appears, but I'm not sure how it fits into the movie since he seems to be switching into this at night, an then back to his main outfit as he follows Jerrica and the others.

This shirt seems to be probably dark blue, or dark gray, and is covered with a pattern of white shapes. His shirt appears to be white, so it doesn't seem to be the same shirt he wears in the towel scene, since that one looks more gray. Second view of top, with more visible pattern.

Club outfit
Or is this to be considered Rio's main outfit in the movie, being gray which is kinda similar to the beige in the cartoon. Back of jacket

Towel
Yes this is actually seen in the movie. And according to the cartoon model cels, even towels count as their own outfit.

Jeans
Here he is only wearing jeans and a belt.

Jeans with t-shirt
Second view of outfit. Close-up of top.

Cut out outfit
This was, as far as I've found yet, not featured in the movie, since the only scene it was to appear in was cut out, and only included in the extra material.

Sneaking into Starlight
This is what Rio wears when he and Jerrica sneak into Starlight Music. Top. Bracelets. Watch an Bracelets. Shoes.

Backstage
The final outfit we see Rio in, and perhaps the most elegant one. Top. Watch.
