Jem and the Holograms are going to appear in the World History Of Music concert. Techrat has invented a time travel device to send Jem and the Holograms back in time, so that the Misfits can take their place. Techrat's gadget turns out to have a minor flaw, it requires a trade.

Jem and the Holograms meet Johnny Beldrix who is supposed to be Jimi Hendrix.

Johnny Beldrix thinks the Misfits are unhip.

Eric goes back in time to the dinosaurs.

In the song "Rockin' Down Through Time" by Jem and the Holograms, real life musicians are mentioned: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, George Gershwin, Glenn Miller, John Lennon, and Elvis Presley.

Stormer says a line "Pizzazz, how are we ever gonna get back to the future" that might be a reference to the 1985 movie "Back To The Future", considering the time travelling theme.

Part of this episode took place on a Sunday, or more exact... the parts when Jem and the Holograms are in Woodstock took place on sunday august 17 in 1969.

The song "Rock And Roll Is Forever" by Jem and the Holograms is re-used. Previously appeared in the episode "Old Meets New".
